Greetings again, in Jesus!
First of all, thanks for your prayers for a couple things in Clark County (where I live). The April 19th meeting was well received. There were about 50 Clark County leaders in the room to hear a great story of what God is doing in Whatcom County (in Northern WA.). This was very encouraging to us and has already helped advance His work in our area.
Then on May 3rd we had good participation in the National Day of Prayer events here locally. We are now nearing the end of what we called 24X24 Prayer for Clark County. Throughout the state many areas encouraged 24 congregations to each take one day and rally special (24 hour) prayer. We did not get all the days covered, but we did get 19 congregations to be involved. We are encouraged! So, thanks for your prayers.
The second Prayer Summit in Japan has just concluded. I have not heard any specifics yet, but please do pray that God would complete what He began during these special encounters with God.
I have four specific requests I would ask for you to pray with me about.
1) This weekend – May 25-27 – I facilitated a Congregational Prayer Summit in British Columbia. Thank you for your prayers! We sensed His presence in very specific ways and had a clear sense we were following His leadership. Now please pray that God would protect and complete what He began. Also, please pray that this congregation will continue to grow in dynamic corporate prayer.
2) Tonight (May 31st) I get to share in the classroom at Western Seminary in Portland. The class is on Spiritual Disciplines and I get to share on the place and value of corporate prayer. Would you pray as I share about prayer?
3) I am reaching the final stages of getting the book United and Ignited: Encountering God through Dynamic Corporate Prayer. Please pray for me as I round the final corners and head for the finish line. I will be taking several days in the next two weeks to work on this. Pray for sensitivity on my part so that this book will have a great impact on the Body of Christ. Related to this, the July/August issue of Prayer Connect – the best magazine devoted to prayer – will be on the topic of corporate prayer. Please pray that the article I wrote for this issue would be a great encouragement.
4) As is normal, my summer months will be spent doing more things locally. Please pray for the great opportunities before us here in Clark County as a group of us will be continuing to pray and work for more and better prayer throughout our area.
And may God grant you a closer relationship with Him as you continue to respond to His consistent and persistent call.
